Barbara J. Cruz Death; Murder-suicide in Rehoboth, Massachusetts As Man and Woman Found Dead

At around 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, a relative of the female victim called 911, the District Attorney’s Office (DA’s Office) reports. The call came from Rehoboth police.

After the relative reported hearing shouting while speaking on the phone with Barbara J. Cruz, 77, from Tiverton, Rhode Island, she contacted the police to request that they perform a well-being check on her.

The relative reported that the phone chat with Cruz ended abruptly, and when she tried to call him back, no one picked up the phone.

According to the District Attorney’s Office in Bristol, when police officers rushed to the residence located at 162 Summer Street, they discovered two persons deceased inside with gunshot wounds and an 84-year-old woman who was not hurt.

Omar Bradley, 72, who had been living in the Summer Street residence with the 84-year-old woman who was not harmed, is suspected to have shot and killed Cruz, the sister of the woman who was not injured, and then shot himself, according to the preliminary investigation conducted by investigators.

According to the authorities, Bradley is also known to have a residence in Providence.
