This incident happened on June 23, 2022. It is believed that the Senator used his power to get the victim from the street, to help donate a kidney to his daughter who has been diagnosed with kidney disease and can only survive with a kidney transplant.
The case was taken on to protect the victim (David Nwamini) after the police became aware of the situation and ruled out possible violations of the modern slavery legislation. According to the prosecution, the victim who is allegedly 15 years, was sent to Heathrow to harvest an organ.
The senator was arrested by the London Metropolitan Police in June. According to sources, Mr. Ekweremadu languishes in jail, and his wife is on bail.
