Just when we thought an official Kate Middleton sighting could be near, a new report revealed her return to royal duty might not be until the middle of April — weeks later than the originally anticipated date of Easter.
According to The Sunday Times, the Princess of Wales's next public appearance may not be until after April 17, which coincides with the end of her children's spring break from school. However, what her first engagement will be hasn’t been announced yet.
Kensington Palace has held firm that the Princess of Wales would not be making any official appearances until after the Easter holidays, pointing to their original statement released with the news of her abdominal sugrery: "Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter" the statement read. However fans hoped they might see the Princess attending Easter services with her family next Sunday. Last year, she and Princess Charlotte appeared in matching blue outfits and Prince Louis made his debut at the holiday church service.
Upon her return is when Middleton might address the growing concerns over her health. “They are at their most open when out interacting with members of the public and I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements," a royal source told the outlet. "If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it.”
A friend of the princess's added that Will and Kate "will want to be clear and more open, but they’ll do it when they feel ready. I would expect that to be her instinct and it will be her call. They’re not going to be rushed.”
Unofficially, Middleton was spotted out and about over the weekend visiting a farm stand with Prince William in Windsor. Despite a report from The Sun indicating she looked "happy and healthy," no photos were taken, causing the internet question the validity of the sighting all together.
